Pay Rate: $19.00 – $24.00 per hour, based on experience
Position Overview:
Custom Staffing & Skilled Solutions is seeking a meticulous and highly detail-oriented Quality Control Technician for our valued client, a leading manufacturing company in the Milwaukee area. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring that all manufactured parts meet the highest standards of precision, accuracy, and quality. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with proven experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-process and final inspections on machined parts to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Accurately measure critical features and diameters using precision measuring instruments, primarily OD micrometers and calipers.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Document inspection results meticulously by completing detailed reports and logs.
- Identify, quarantine, and report any non-conforming products to the Quality Manager and production team.
- Collaborate with machinists and production staff to resolve quality-related issues.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves):
- Demonstrated, hands-on proficiency in accurately reading and using an Outside Diameter (OD) Micrometer is a non-negotiable requirement. Candidates will be required to demonstrate this skill during the interview process.
- Proven experience working as a Quality Inspector or Quality Technician within a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols.
- Experience using a variety of other measuring tools, including calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):
- Experience in an ISO 9001 certified environment.
- Familiarity with inspection of babbitt bearings or similar precision components.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
